Education

Education has always been a priority for Clinton residents. Years ago, the city was nicknamed the "Athens of Mississippi" for its many educational academies and colleges. Today, this level of excellence continues where educational opportunities abound for all ages from kindergarten through graduate-level study.

Clinton is proud to be the home of Mississippi College, the oldest institute of higher learning in Mississippi and one of America's 64 oldest colleges. In addition, the Clinton Public School District is a shining example of performance across the state and nation, maintaining a high level of excellence in all areas of a child's education.
