Parks & Recreation

An active family will find recreational opportunities plentiful and in close proximity to all areas of the city. The Clinton Parks & Recreation Department continuously strives to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Clinton by providing professionally designed leisure programs and services. A variety of park facilities are available to meet the needs of all ages of residents.

The Parks & Recreation Department is located at 200 Soccer Row.

Traceway Park

Traceway Park is the city's premier family park, which includes 160 acres with 11 soccer fields, 6 softball fields, 8 baseball fields, walking tracks, a pavilion and the Administrative offices. Athletes and fans from across the southeast are drawn to Traceway Park to participate in the many district and regional sporting events held in Clinton. On July 4th, Traceway Park is the location for the annual Fireworks Extravaganza.

Brighton Park

Brighton Park, the newest addition to the park system, has 4 regular tennis courts, 2 championship courts, 1 sand volleyball court, 2 pavilions, 2 shuffleboard courts, outdoor exercise equipment, and a programs facility.

Kids' Towne Playground

Located adjacent to Clinton Park Elementary School, volunteer-built Kids' Towne Playground offers a wide variety of wood-constructed playground equipment, 3 tennis courts, 1 backboard court, a walking track and a pavilion.

Robinson Park

Robinson Park provides a new pavilion, multi-purpose field, 1outdoor basketball court, playground and a walking track.

Northside Park

Northside Park has 2 outdoor basketball courts, playground, multi-purpose field, pavilion and a walking track.

Clinton-Natchez Trace Visitor Center

Clinton-Natchez Trace Visitor Center serves as a Welcome Center for travelers along the Natchez Trace Parkway and provides a gift shop as well as meeting space.

In addition, Clinton has many walking paths and tennis courts. Also located within the community are fields for organized sports programs offered through the Baptist Healthplex and the Clinton YMCA. Listed below are just a few of the fun things to do and see in Clinton.

Clinton Community Nature Center

Located on 32 acres of land near Olde Towne Clinton, the Clinton Community Nature Center allows visitors to enjoy two miles of all-weather, slag covered trails while viewing hundreds of species of native trees and shrubs. The Nature Center also contains a 100-seat amphitheater, an educational kiosk, and a butterfly garden. In addition, newly constructed Price Hall houses a welcome center and gift shop. Baptist Healthplex

The Baptist Healthplex at Mississippi College provides Clinton residents with many recreational activities. Located within the facilities are basketball, racquetball, and squash courts, a cushioned indoor track, an indoor heated therapy pool, whirlpool, a 32-foot climbing wall, free weights and exercise machines, to name a few. Cascades Racquet Club

The Cascades Racquet Club is Clinton's private swim, tennis and fitness club that offers youth and adult tennis programs year round. The clubhouse is also available for rental for parties, receptions and dinners. Application for membership is open to all Clinton area residents. For more details, call 601-924-2705.

Clinton YMCA

The Clinton YMCA is committed to building "strong kids, strong families and strong communities," and it is able to meet that goal with two swimming pools, a modern fitness center, child care services as well as a summer day camp program.
