Field reservations must be made through Clinton Parks and Recreation Department Administrative Office in order to guarantee field usage. Games and practices are scheduled according to season and take preference. Field rentals and deposit fees may be access based upon activities being held. Can we reset the Thor-Guard? No, the Thor-Guard system is a lightening detection device installed to protect you and your loved one’s from any type of electrical storm or lightening that has been detected within the area. This system is there for your protection and is mandated by the Mayor and Board of Alderman for all activities to stop when you hear the horn. One long horn sound means to “Clear the fields and seek shelter”. Three short horn sounds means “All Clear”. Can you mark off the fields for immediate usage? All fields are prepared during the week for game preparation only. All schedules must be prior approved by the Director before the seasons take place. In order to keep organization, all field schedules will be approved Friday afternoon by 3 p.m. for the following week Why are the gates closed? Gates will be closed on Wednesday by 3:00 p.m. and during inclement weather. Please call our HOTLINE for field conditions. When are we going to play bingo? Community Bingo I and II is offered on the 3rd Thursday @ 2:00 p.m. of each month at Trace Pointe and the last Friday @ 10:00 a.m. of each month at the Healthplex. It is free to participate. When are we going on another trip? Trips may vary depending on the time of year. Please look in The Clinton News or check our web site for additional information and postings. Have you sent my calendar? Our department now has a 2004 Information Guide available to everyone. The information listed in it will give you information for registration dates, programs and special events throughout the 2004-year. You may come by our office and pick yours up during the hours of 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. Have the games been canceled? The chance of games or practices being canceled will normally result from inclement weather. Please call our HOTLINE @ 924-0888 during inclement weather. Do you have job openings? Employment opportunities are posted at City Hall. Applications are available Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday between the hours of 8:00-11:00 a.m. and 1:00-4:00 p.m. What camps are available? Our Department offers a variety of Spring Break, Summer, Senior and Sports Camps. Please see our 2004 Information Guide for more information. What is the hotline number? 924-0888 Is it too late to register my child? All of our programs offer a 3-week registration period, and we do have a mail-out registration form we administer at the beginning of each registration season for those individuals who participated in that particular program the previous year. We do strive to stay within our registration time periods because of the time frame for the start and ending of that particular season. This way we can prevent overlapping of seasons. Once registration has ended those individuals who missed the deadline will be placed on a “player waiting list” and will be called to play if a team doesn’t have enough players to form a team. We will do our best to make sure all individuals get on a team; however, it is very important that you register during the appropriate registration time frame. What time do we play games and practice? Following registration, coaches should contact each player. All players/parents should receive a practice/game schedule prior to the start of the season. Who is our coach, because he hasn’t contacted us? If you haven’t heard from your coach one week after registration has been completed, please contact our office and we will assist you in making contact. Where do I register? Registration for all programs, camps, classes and special events operated by the Parks and Recreation Department take place at our Administrative Office, unless otherwise noted prior to registration. Do you accept Visa or Debit Cards? Not at this time, but we are looking into it along with online registration. |
