The Department of Finance and Administration is responsible for all accounting, purchasing, vendor payments, information systems, debt management, utility billing, human resources, investments, court services and administrative functions of the City.

The City of Clinton has a strong financial position due to its commercial and residential growth and development during the past eight years. Property taxes are the principal source of General Fund revenues and represent approximately 46% of total revenues. Total ad valorem millage for 2003 is 35.74 mills. Sales taxes represent approximately 35% of total General Fund income.
