Storm Water Regulations
After rain falls to the ground in an urban area, it travels across roofs, yards, parking lots, and/or streets before it finds its way into the city's drainage system. From there it flows to local ponds and streams. As it travels across urban groundcover, it can capture a wide variety of pollutants and deliver them to those water bodies. Typical urban runoff pollutants include sediment, nutrients from fertilizers, litter, oil and grease, bacteria from pet waste, trace metals and other toxics, and thermal increases.
The following items provide information on the City of Clinton's efforts to reduce storm water pollution.
